Becky Burgess, L.Ac.

Thank you for visiting Vail Valley Wellness!  I'm Becky Burgess, an Eagle resident, mother of two, entrepreneur, avid listener of audiobooks, and owner of Vail Valley Wellness!  As a health-enthusiast I am on a mission to find the latest and greatest in bioenergetic medicine, bring them to the Valley, and put them all under one roof!

I am certified as a Diplomate in Chinese Medicine by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and I'm licensed by the state of Colorado.  I received my Master's degree in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder; after which I pursued work in the nonprofit field, founding and operating the nationally recognized herbal pharmacy, Urban Herbs.

My tenure as an acupuncturist includes work at the St. Francis Center, a resource hub for those finding their ways out of homelessness, where the focus was largely on mental healthcare. I worked as the official Acupuncturist for the University of Denver Division I Athletics Program, helping student-athletes recover faster and prevent injuries and I have been published in two scientific journals regarding the effect of acupuncture on patients with Parkinson's Disease and the challenges that come with creating a placebo acupuncture control.

My advanced studies include treating pain, women's health, and anxiety, but my truest passion in the medicine lies in incorporating Chinese herbs into every treatment. In 2013, I traveled to Harbin, China to complete an internship at the Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine Second Affiliated Hospital, where I saw the undeniable benefits of employing Chinese herbs in patients' treatment plans.  It fueled my passion to bring that accessibility to holistic healthcare back to the States.

Sometimes the most important thing in a whole day is the rest we take between two deep breaths.

Alicia Kelley, L.Ac

It all started when I began studying the human body in college. I was so fascinated by the complex functionality of the human body; from the intricate function of each internal organ to the astounding potential of the external musculoskeletal system. A life long athlete, I have had first hand experience of the extensive capabilities of the body, as well as the downfalls that can come with it when not functioning properly. I knew early on that I would work with the body in some way.

I earned a degree from Coastal Carolina University in Health Promotion and Exercise Science. I wanted to open fitness centers in low income areas so people had a place to workout and come together as a community. After realizing the high level of paperwork and the low level of human interaction, I knew this wasn't for me. I began researching Graduate school programs that would ultimately allow me to work one on one with humans, and would give me multiple tools to use.

I moved to Colorado to begin my journey at Acupuncture school. Four years later, I earned my Master of Science in Oriental Medicine at SWAC in Boulder. Just recently I followed my heart and the path that the universe laid before me and I moved up to Vail Valley. I am absolutely loving the mountains, my life, and my career, and I am incredibly grateful for all who have helped me on this journey.

When I am not working with humans, I am playing with my amazing dog or soaring through the air on my Aerial Silks or Dance Trapeze. Life is all about feeling good, so I pay attention to the things that feed my soul and nourish my body, and let go of the things that don't. It is an ever changing, constantly flowing, transitional world. The key is to find the balance among it all.
